Golf Shoe Review: Nike Men's Air Range WP

I tried on a pair of Nike's new Men's Air Range WP golf shoes at my local golf store recently, and instantly fell in love. The shoes are constructed of mesh and synthetic leather, and they feel lighter than almost
any other golf shoe I have worn. I took a few steps around the store to test the fit, and I noticed that the shoe gripped my heel well despite its low cut - no more blisters on my heels from high-cut shoes that rub my ankles. Although the Air Range WP model comes in a selection of colors, I chose the solid grey with a white sole because I was attracted to the simplicity of the design. I purchased a pair on the spot.

The next week, I took the Nike Air Range WP golf shoes for a test drive at my local course. Temperatures had risen into the triple digits that day, and I was immediately struck by how well the shoes' mesh outer layer kept my feet cool and dry. The Air Range WP shoes kept my feet steady during my swing, and provided support without constricting my movement. At the end of the round, I was surprised at how fresh I felt. In the past, my feet would have been tired and achy after 18 holes. Overall the round was a success, and the Air Range WP shoes earned my complete approval.

My biggest concern with the Nike Air Range WP golf shoes is that their casual, sporty design is not suited for all occasions. While I tend to play weekend golf at a nearby public course with less exacting dress standards, I also often play golf in a business setting. The country club atmosphere is more formal than at public courses, and the Air Range WP would cause a golfer to appear underdressed for such a setting. If you regularly play at a private club with a strict dress code, the Nike Air Range WP golf shoe may not be for you.
